Yes,
this is the most common cause of data loss, and FinalData can easily
recover your file. However, the success of recovery
depends a few major factors:
- Time elapsed between file
deletion and recovery: Ideally, recovery should
be done immediately after a file or folder is deleted.
The chances of a file being overwritten, and thus rendered unrecoverable,
dramatically increases as the user, or Windows creates and writes (temporary)
files to the hard drive.
- Location of a File:
Deleted files that reside directly under the root
directory may have a decreased chance of recovery.
- Size of the File:
Larger files are at greater risk of being overwritten
by Windows temporary files.
When files are simply deleted and emptied
from the Recycle Bin,
you do not need to proceed with a Cluster Scan;
the deleted file(s) will be displayed under the "Deleted
Files" or "Deleted Directories" folder upon completion of
the inital Root Directory Scan.
